Manchester United will almost
certainly spend a lot of money this
summer, but they might enhance
their midfield dramatically without
spending any money.
Erik ten Hag is well aware of the
magnitude of the assignment he has
chosen to undertake. Instead of relaxing
in the Caribbean this week to celebrate
a well-earned Eredivisie victory,
he has plunged deeply into his new
position to get things moving as quickly
as possible. He was at Selhurst Park
on Sunday to see United's worst-
ever Premier League season end in
a fitting defeat, with the club finishing
with an appalling score of just
58 points.
The task will be extremely difficult,
and if Ten Hag is to succeed, he
will have to work really hard.
