London-based global investment firm Centricus has confirmed it is in the running to buy Chelsea - and they've already provided assurances about the future of manager Thomas Tuchel.

The group, which is headed by Nizar Al-Bassam and Garth Ritchie, have teamed up with Cheyne Capital’s Jonathan Lourie and Talis Capital’s Bob Finch, who was once a majority shareholder of Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.

All four men are season tickets holders at Stamford Bridge and have pitched their offer to the Raine Group, who are conducting the sale of the Premier League club from Roman Abramovich. Centricus oversees global assets worth a reported £40billion.

A statement confirming that a bid had been made said: "Centricus sees this as an opportunity to make a long-term investment in Chelsea. Our financing for the deal includes funding for the completion of the transaction and funding for [1] working capital required for the day-to-day operations of the CFC Group.
